Patrick,
Bob gave me a few low cost librarys, I believe a Sony one, another whose
name escapes me, and bainbridge sound effects volume 2, which is definitely
the best of the lot.
Beepity poof, this isn't a one-liner.

Subject: Re: The Talk2 List question reguarding sound libraries
Hi:
I've gone so far underground to get good sound libraries that I will
probably never see the sun again, assuming I could, of course... so I
couldn't
really tell you what's available for cheap that doesn't suck. What i can
say though is, good sound libraries will
cost you... loads...
Just have a look at some of the scary prices at www.soundideas.com and
www.holleywoodedge.com, two of the biggest producers/resellers around.
There are of course cheaper sound libraries around, but they're usually
limited in some way.
about 10 years ago, I found one cd somewhere for $10 or so, which had
loads of really nice sound effects on it, all recorded in stereo and
everyhing, but they all had this weird peak in the equalization of the
microphones.
But, since it was the best thing I had for a long time, I overused it,
and it was very, very obvious that I did so.
I've had a few other semi-ok cheap ones. One of them was "authentic
sound effects, volume three" which I found in 1998, I think. Probably one
of the best cheap sound libraries I've seen.
Forgot who made it now... some company in Los Angeles, I think.
I don't even want to think of the actual value of all the stuff I've
managed to get actually is.
I'd get very scared and run away.
