Caitlin, I think you are paying far too much attention to your
synthesizer's pronunciation, and not nearly enough to the proper
pronunciation of the word spelled h, a, i, k, u, s. I think the question
you meant to ask in your original message was, "What ARE haikus," and I
also think that if you ponder the spelling of the word for long enough,
you will discover that you already know the answer.
By the way, this is the second incarnation of this message, because as I
was writing the first one, Windows Update thought it would be a brilliant
idea to restart my computer. I disagreed with it, but it didn't seem to
think I deserved much say in the matter, so there went the first version
