the guys at model talker are going to fix this for me. apparently what
happened was inv tool lost track of what files it had recorded and all they
have to do is send me a new inv file. I think its soooo weird that it sounds
better with half the lexical entries.

Hi:
Been there, done that. I opened the compiler while InvTool was still
opened, or something like that, and managed to successfully break the
inventory.
I don't know of a fix for this other than starting over from scratch,
unfortunately.

yeah, i didn't do it in one sitting. every other time, inv tool
automatically saved what i had done. now, whenever i open my voice

at prompt one, even though inv tool is telling me that the correct
invintory is open.
greeeeat. looks like i have to start again.

Hello Tasha.
I don't know of anybody that finished the entire recording in one
sitting. I've only gotten as far as about 649 words and I can load up
just fine.
This will come as a silly question, but what happens when you
load invtool, go to the open dialog and try to load your voice file?
is this where ----- Original Message ----- the error occurs?

Hi list,
So after having recorded about 700 words, I managed to lose my
voice invintory. this probably happened as a result of me running bcc
and then terminating it in the middle, which probably wasn't the
smartest idea. before i lost the file for good, i kept trying to open
it and it kept saying, "error reading carrier words." it gave me that
message for another three times, and now when i open the file, i'm
stuck at prompt one. Apparently, what i had created of my voice
sounded "as if yu and jaws had had babies" according to a sighted
friend of mine, but I really, really, don't want to start at prompt
one. any ideas on what might have happened and how to recover the voice
would be apreciated.
