Subject: Email Encryption/Transport of PHI

Hi everyone,

One of the hospitals that I work for wants me to download their clinic
schedules and then email them to their remote transcriptionist as an
attachment. I know HOW to do this, but is it safe—doesn’t it violate HIPAA I’m
transferring personal health info and it’s not encrypted or password protected?
Is there another way to accomplish this?

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
