Greetings,

Day late, dollar short but...

rypted-files-from-vba-ms-access

No need to use all the create object stuff - our Shell_ command will
work just fine.

See
http://www.bostonworkstation.com/customer_center/script_center/script_de
tails.aspx?id=357&cat=30

For information on how to use the Shell_ command with an exe that
accepts parameters. This was in response to a question on Talk a few
weeks back so it's not the exact example, but same concept.

I didn't try the dll that they were referencing...

Regards,

Thom

Try the open source version named GPG

You can script it easily.

Subject: [talkbws] Decrypting Script using PGP

Hello group!

This is a spin off a question from a post last week. Has anyone built a
script in BW to decrypt a document using PGP? Currently I have to logon
to a web server with a specific login unique to the PGP software,
decrypt the file using a DOS prompt and then place the file where it can
be used.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Sherry

I would suggest PGP encrypting the files before emailing them....

You don't need to get too complex (Private/Public Key's) and should be
able to just make a 'secure archive', which is just a PGP level password
encryption. The file will most likely be just filename.txt.pgp. Then
just call them over the phone to tell them the password....

This would be a violation of HIPPA. Vendors are always trying to get us
to send them unencrypted data. On many FTP sites I use GPG encryption
before FTPing the file(s). We also do a few SFTP and FTPS.

Thanks,

Hi everyone,

One of the hospitals that I work for wants me to download their clinic
schedules and then email them to their remote transcriptionist as an
attachment. I know HOW to do this, but is it safe-doesn't it violate
HIPAA I'm transferring personal health info and it's not encrypted or
password protected? Is there another way to accomplish this?

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
