Subject: [talkbws] key statement and ~

We have written a script to KEY in a path\filename into a window...
works great... unless the path has a tilde character. The tilde is
interpreted as an ENTER key so it cuts off the file name. For example,
this filename "C:\DOCUME~1\202374\LOCALS~1\Temp\filename.txt" gets
truncated at "C:\DOCUME" because the ~ is interpreted as pressing the
ENTER key (and pressing the ENTER key invokes the default Okay button on
the window).

Is there a way to escape the tilde or represent it differently so that
the KEY statement doesn't interpret it as an ENTER?

Thanks in advance,

John Mulligan
