I got it!!!  With your help on how to connect and use the Advance Windows 
Functions I was able to figure it out.  I am using:

w.SmartDialog("Open", "File name:<Editable text>").Value = _reportPath & 
theFile.Name
w.SmartDialog("Open", "Open<Split button>").Click()

I am using Windows Vista which could explain the difference.  I may have to 
change the <Split button> back to <Push button> when I move it to my Windows 
Server 2003 script server.
