Greetings,

I know what you're talking about - this occurs because the existing BDS
file which stores the file type used does not match up with what you
chose - it happens mostly with CSV files that you open with Excel and
later switch back to Delimited or vice versa. You can't turn this off
because it needs to be this way - File types and BDS files are important
to the DataStation. It has to know what kind of file it's opening in
order to parse it successfully.

 

So the DataStation is basically doing its job here.
