Thanks, Tom. I'm putting in as much as a Wait 1 before each Enter, but that
still doesn't seem to slow it down enough, if too much speed is the issue.

Here's the code:

Key "{F12}"
Wait 0.1
Key "+{DELETE}"
Enter "F"
Wait 1
Enter ""
Wait 1
Enter ""

Subject: [talkbws] RE: Meditech magic focus question

Greetings,
The product certainly can recognize the dialogs - but perhaps you've told your
script to do so!
Your statement:
But in the BWS script, adding two Enter "" commands doesn't seem to work in
this case

Indicates you're not explicitly detecting that each separate dialogs exists -
you're just throwing two enter keys to the screen.
It suggests you have something like:

Enter
Enter

Those are going to the screen very very quickly one after the other - probably
quicker than Meditech could display the dialog box!

Regards,
Thom

Subject: [talkbws] Meditech magic focus question

I seem to be having a focus problem. I'm scripting in Meditech B/AR, and
inactivating some entries. When I do them manually, and hit F(ile) I get two
messages. First, a pop-up that says "CAUTION: The change you are filing affects
other dictionaries." with an "Ok" below it. I enter through that, and get
another pop-up that says "Check the on-line documentation for details." and
also has an "Ok" below it. I enter through them OK manually, just by hitting
enter.

But in the BWS script, adding two Enter "" commands doesn't seem to work in
this case, it's like it's not recognizing the pop-up messages. Do I need to do
an activate or something, even though I don't have to when I'm doing these
manually?

As soon as you enter the last command to trigger the download process try using
the following;

Connect "Save As", stWindows
'connect to the Save As window so BWS know what to connect to.
    Key "<your drive\folder\filename.whatever>" '
ex. "C:\bss70\downloads\thisisatest.txt"
    Wait 1.0
'sometimes it's good idea to wait a sec...keeps BWS from running off
with out you.
    Enter ""
            'starts the download process.

Connect "MeditechNUI", stStream
'Tells BWS to go back and reconnect to Meditech Meditech
Pause ("mess...@1,1<mailto:mess...@1,1>")
' Waits for Meditech to acknowledge the download is
complete via a dialog box

Continue with the rest of the script.

well, I thought I would have trouble with that box popping up to select the
file because it looks like a standard Microsoft Windows box for selecting a
file and clicking open. But this line worked:
Condition: Title APPG at 1,1
                     Cursor at 5,18
Actions: Key F("FILEPATH")
                Key F("FILENAME")
                Enter ""

Then I tell it to go to step remove date. In step remove date
Condition: Title APPG at 1.1
                    Cursor at 7,26
Actions: Key "{F10}" ' IT WILL NOT KEY THE F10 PART UNLESS I CLICK ON THE
TASKBAR WHERE MEDITECH IS MINIMIZED TO VIEW THE SCREEN

The script runs minimized with this connect command in the beginning :

Connect "835MeditechPostings C:\Program Files\MEDITECH\Workstation3.x\T.exe",
stMeditechNUIEx: Dim cgw As New CGetWindow: Activate "Magic", True: h =
GetForeGroundhWnd: cgw.ShowWindow showMINIMIZE, h

Greetings,
Hum... that doesn't sound right - meaning Meditech being in the foreground or
not shouldn't matter. Meaning cursor detection, text on screen etc. is not
impacted by whether or not Meditech is in the foreground.
An Activate command may help to force the issue...
Activate "Current Meditech Caption goes here",True

But...

What are you using to fill in the Save As dialog box?

With the current shipping of BWS there is a new command called SmartDialog that
works really well for these situations.
Check out:
http://www.bostonworkstation.com/customer_center/script_center/script_details.aspx?id=372&cat=10
For an example that will match your situation.

Thom

So I have a script that enters a filename into Meditech. When it gets to the
field to pull in the filename it opens a windows browse box. The script puts in
the filename and hits Enter. After that though, unless I bring the meditech
window back to maximized in the taskbar, it is as though the script has lost
focus with the Meditech session. Hope this makes sense. Is there a command to
bring focus back?
Thanks,
