Thanks fellas. This is where my thinking was going, but wasn't sure if
there was an easier/built in function for this.

RE: [talkbws] HBOWem message flicker

I handle this in my procedure scripts by placing a Stable 0.25 command
immediately after the data/option I?m keying/entering. Then I read the
error line (view(, , 24, 1, 80, True)) and check if it?s stating and
Error. You can read the line into a variable so that you can then log the
error message given. The Stable 0.25 makes sure the cursor is stable for
.25 seconds before continuing, which is generally enough time to allow the
Error message to pop up but not too much time that it will have gone away.

So ?

Enter ?My Data?
Stable 0.25
errorLineText = View(, , 24, 1, 80, True)
If errorLineText like ?*Error*? then
                ? Handle Error
End If

It is procedure based, and I am trying to do both. I need to take action
when and if it shows up, and I also need to log the error. Currently, I
am trying to grab it with the View command.

Greetings,
Yes I do J but have some questions first.

You trying to grab it with a View command for storage?
Or does your script need to take a particular action if a particular
message appears?
Is this a Rules based script?
Regards,
Thom

Subject: [talkbws] HBOWem message flicker

I'm wondering if anybody has a tip on capturing an HBOWem status flicker
in Star using BWS. I've tried several times to capture the line, but it
seems to always be a blank line. The status will only stay there for
about a half to 1 second so I think timing may be an issue.
