Greetings, There is a fundamental problem with services. They are geared towards background processes that are separate from end user, desktop things. Scripts are end user, desktop things.
Now one could have a dumb (dumb here not being a derogative term btw) - that just launches stuff - Windows Task scheduler is a good example - and I know of folks that run scripts that way. You could have Windows Task Scheduler load a BWS project that has a Schedule configured for example. Our belief is that it is important that the scheduler not be dumb, it should know about the script it is running - so it cannot run another script until the last one is done regardless of the timing. If you try to make a service scheduler not dumb, eventually some needed scripting functionality (especially things to do with Windows Scripting, or anything that needs to react to events on the PC) becomes impossible because it is tied in with the script itself.
