Greetings, Parsing an 835 is easy with BWS - the DataStation supports it as a file type.
A Record= a segment And you "walk" through the segments. The tricky part is understanding what you are seeing inside the segments - and that is where the spec's come in. You shouldn't need to pay for that however. Usually the payer sending you the 835 will have a spec available on their website. You don't need to pay for the full ANSI X.12 spec from WEDI etc. - and it's likely not to be <exactly> what you need. 835's (and the rest of the HIPPA transactions in X.12) are very similar to HL7 - they are Standards are open to individual interpretation J Regards, Thom Thom C.
