My issue is that the download path is not consistently highlighted or not highlighted. If it were, then, yes, backspace, delete, or nothing at all but the string I want to send would be fine. When it is highlighted, I just want to send the string w/o clicking because if I click, then I un-highlight it and insert the string into what's already there. When it's not highlighted, then I do want to click because clicking will highlight it. And to further complicate things, the defaults for this dialog are not taking when we set them (this is happening for users all over the house).

When I click in the download path of my scripts, the contents are highlighted so backspace works great. Guessing the delete key would work fine too. Thanks! It would help if I had a command to clear a field that I've just clicked into. Is there such a thing?
