All,

I am going to assume a Rules script here...

"Timing out" is based on you having a Timeout Rule in the step and
setting the timeout property somewhere earlier in the script to the
desired duration (default is 20 seconds)

So a script can certainly timeout - or can certainly not timeout. That
is completely your choice since we don't know what you'd want J

And of course, what you want the script to do after it times out is also
completely your choice.

Timeout is a threshold for pain. So in your example, you would want your
timeout to be set longer than an hour, but probably not 3 hrs. Timeout
is incremented in seconds btw...

Hi Mary.

I would say NO. But don't quote me on that. I've come in Monday
mornings only to find BWS sitting at the next step waiting for a
condition to come true from a script that started Friday afternoon.
It's not likely BWS will time out on you...but another application may.

I have a file that will take over an hour to process. I do not want BWS
to time out and send an error the file takes this long to process. Do I
need to take some steps to insure the file will have time to process and
still remain in BWS for the next step?
