Ok, well pardon me for my poor choice of words, when I said 'emulator' what I really meant was 'server' as in the hbocwemserver, that is part of the BWS install. What I've done is set up a connection to mainframe through the mckwem session manager, then I'm using that to try to script some processes, but I'm running into the problems mentioned before. It reads the stream just fine, but won't interface with the special keys at all.
I do have another emulator installed, called PowerTerm, that is used to connect to the mainframe, but I haven't found any of the 'servers' that will connect to it. Although I really need to learn how to manipulate a 'windows' connection, I don't have the time to do that in the scope of this project, and a 'window' connection doesn't read the screen as reliably as it would a 'stream' connection. "I've tried all the ones that come standard with BWS" - is an odd statement to me since we don't ship any emulations at all - we ship the capability to communicate with them. Meaning to use the Connection you must have the emulator installed on your PC. I have had good success with many different emulators - the below is just a few that I remember off hand. I've tried all the ones that come standard with BWS, and have not had satisfactory results. The closest I've come is using Star's vt220 emulation, but it is limited and won't recognize any of the F-keys or the CTRL key used to unlock the screen on errors. This is all functionality that is imperative to working with Mainframe. I've tried a slew of 'Key' combinations through Star's emulator, but none are working.
