Some common ways are to enter a double %%, or to put the % inside single
quotes. Not sure if this will help in your context, but worth a shot.

Subject: [talkbws] My Meditech 6 isn't accepting a percent sign (%) as part of
a string of text

I'm scripting in some values in the Pharmacy Drug dictionary. Some of the
mnemonics have a percent sign in them (i.e. LIDI.5%) No matter where the sign
is in the string it just skips it. I've tried putting it by itself in quotes,
or expressing it as an ASCII character, but it still won't cooperate. Has
anyone tamed this yet?
