I am getting ready to start testing a script with my users. I am concerned with the 'busy screen' that is presented to them when the script is run. I am minimizing windows to keep the desktop clear, but when a window is made active, or called into focus and put on top of the other windows, there is a lot of flashing by of windows, and it even annoys me. I guess I could NOT minimize as much as I do, and explain during training that they should ignore what is there until a certain message or window appears on the screen. That would take of a lot of the on screen changes, and might be less traumatic. Unfortunately, my script tends to be very interactive, so they cannot exactly walk away while it is running. Any thoughts or suggestions? Perhaps this isn't as big an issue as I perceive it to be. After all, it is a trade off; automation vs. manual entry and process. But I am trying to think about usability and user friendliness. TKs Lew Hundley Information Specialist - Programmer Silverton Hospital Silverton Oregon 503.873.1657 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
