Have you checked on Oracle forums?

Look at this and see if it helps. Looks like a DNS configuration issue.

Subject: RE: [Talk] HELP..BWS and Oracol Databases

Everyone,

Thanks for the reply. We are trying to get data from McKesson Horizon
Clinicals Server. We currently query the Oracle db using FREE TOAD.
We have the sql for the 3 queries that are used. I just want Boston to
duplicate this process.

I have loaded the Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle. We try to use data
station to open the file but when we test it we get ORA-12514:
TNS:listener could not resolve SERVICE_NAME given in connect
descriptor. I need to know where this service name and descriptor is
defined. Also is there any documentation on how to set up the ODBC
connection to Oracle.

Thanks in advance

I guess you are trying to connect to Oracle. If so you can use an ODBC
connection to Oracle database. Make sure you have the ODBC driver for
Oracle on the PC you are running BWS to connect to Oracle. Then you can
create a DNS file with the connection information. Once the connection
is established you can use the recordsets in your BWS Vb-Code.

Subject: [Talk] HELP..BWS and Oracol Databases

Does anyone know how or even if BWS can open Oracle database file off a
Red Hat server. I just need to pull some data and FTP it to our iSeries
join it with other data gathered there and produce reports. I have been
given the great opportunity to learn BWS and accomplish this task in a
week..

Please forgive me if I sound like an idiot. I am new to BWS and Oracle.
Any code examples or ideas would be great.
