FYI, I saw this, and Software Carpentry messages... Curious thing... Email was marked as spam by my mail client, apparently relating to being from Yahoo.CA, and lacking some attributes indicating it to be "real". I imagine it's the DMARC stuff... http://www.pcworld.com/article/2141120/yahoo-email-antispoofing-policy-breaks-mailing-lists.html Many mailing lists are deprecating/blocking Yahoo addresses as mail sent on behalf of such is getting marked as spam.
