If you are worried about USB keyboard/mouse support in your OS, you should be also worry about NVMe / M.2 support. It's newer. Your old Windows probably won't support it. <https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NVM_Express> But you could boot old stuff off of the hard drive.
