Hi Jake,

There is a book called "PHP and MySQL Web Development", which contains a DVD,
It is good in so much as it teaches using a specific project devised by the
authors.

My first experience programming in PHP was writing my own online guest book.
Gets to you used to interfacing with a database (or flat file) and working with
user input. After getting a taste of the syntax, take a gander at Object
Oriented Programming in PHP and the many security issues that crop up when
handling user input. Keep the php.net function list handy and you should be on
your way.

Wow, the 6502 -- you just revealed your age! That was a great processor. If
    we're going to tell stories...

My first computer manual was the original binder for the Altair 8800 --
still
have it and the first few issues of Byte :) Bought the manual, but could
never
afford the parts. When I was a kid, I would ride my bike to Schweber
Electronics in Jericho. I would go up to the will call window and say, I'd
like an AMD 2900 data book please." Since then, I've had therapy.
