As a side note, is anyone thinking about abandoning IE6 testing? My
numbers on IE6 market share show it is around 20%. (my sites are US
based and tend to be "consumer" focused). Apple has dropped support
for IE6 on their new me.com site. I feel like once IE6 drops to 10%,
it will no longer be worth supporting.
Well what are the firefox numbers? I think IE6 is still relevant for
e-commerce and 15 year old girl sites. No one runs windows update and
no one is buying vista. I would consider limiting support of IE6 at
this point, and maybe exclude IE6 from new features in your site.
Here's a pretty decent roundup of how long a few well known companies /
developers will be supporting IE6, if at all - some good arguments on
both sides.
