Yes, you are correct. So far during today experiments I have seen that it is a loosely coupled library. The experience so far has been positive. With Ubuntu I installed it via Apt and I have the "zf" program in my program path so using it anywhere in the file system is easy. One thing that took me a while was to figure out where the library was stored with the Apt install. I found the folder then created a symlink and everything was in proper order.
