Actually people would probably say that I'm both left & right brained in
some ways...although for sure I'm no DaVinci, LOL.
And, I think the guys were joking around a bit with their suggestions.
It's certainly not a trivial thing for any non-engineer to set up a web
server!
Speaking as someone who, with a B.A. degree in English and basically NO
knowledge of computers, somehow taught myself to be a pretty darn good
server-side programmer in my 30s (this was back around 1996/1997 that I
started), I can attest that it IS possible but only if you have both a
LOT of time & patience, AND a tolerance for huge amounts of mental
agony....and plan on not having much of a social life for a decade or
two. I certainly do not want to dissuade anyone from trying.

both left- and right-brained was Leonardo da Vinci - it's that rare.
People should stick to what they're good at, and get others to do what
they really aren't physically equipped to do. It's no shame if an
artist can't figure out how to write code, or if a short person can't
play pro basketball.
(BTW, some people who have CS degrees would have been better off going
for a BFA.)
I've seen guys with Computer Science degrees, btw, have problems
setting up WAMP. :)
