one thing you could do is turn off the speaking of tool tips in the explorer.set file. it is in the general/other w e menu. normally when you first go to the desktop the mouse pointer will be in the center of the screen. if a icon happens to be where the pointer is it will read the tool tip it is on, if the icon has one. if this is the case you could move the icon so it is not where the mouse is by default when you first boot the computer. you could set the mouse to track your icons in the mouse/other menu and turn on mouse tracking. but then it would speak every tool tip associated with each icon. i would open the set file and set the auto tracking to program. so it will only apply to the desktop. not every setfile used.

Subject: WE Desktop Focus Question

Hi: When I go to the Desktop and hit the first letter d to get to documents
WE reads the tool tip for chase bank whhich is above the document item on
the DeskTop.

If I arrow up and down WE then reads the correct tool tip.

Should I disable this feature when using WindowEyes or is there some setting
I am missing to get WE to track correctly?
