Yes we occasionally goes silent but I simply go to my desktop using
window key +D and then go back to tbird and in almost every case speech
is restored.
The only ussue that seems prevalent is we repeating messages that I have
placed in a folder using the alt+M command then hitting I then enter.
The wierd part is this does not happen every time. I suspect it might
be related to the email message format that I cannot determine.Other
then the above we9,1 us cert fast and accurate and not to mention
firefox which is particularly impressive.

I must respectfuly disagree. I use Thunderbird as my primary email client and
am able to use it without any significant problems. With that said, I am using
the current version of Thunderbird under Windows 8.1. Which TB are you using,
and under which operating system?

Since we 9.1 can no longer read mail with thunderbird
we goes silent, then thunderbird is not responding,
so I am using nvda to read mail
so thunderbird doesnot seem to be the problem.

Hey folks
Well, I've had Window-eyes 9.1 on my machine for about a day now so I figured
I'd report my findings, to see if anyone else has had similar experiences. For
the most part, things are extremely stable, much more so than 9.0 was. For
whatever reason right in the middle of surfing a web page or reading an email
in Thunderbird, 9.0 would just go completely silent. no error message was
displayed on the screen, it just closed, as if the program was never opened to
begin with. Pressing the usual hot key alt control w always brought it back so
that was a good thing, but i'm very happy that problem is gone. I noticed it
once or twice when I first installed 9.1 but after rebooting the machine that
little problem appears to have solved itself.
Also, in internet explorer 11, window-eyes still takes a few seconds to load a web page. it's as ifWindow-eyes hangs for about 15 to 30 seconds, but then if I'm patient enough, it usually comes back. I did have a few issues where the 9.0 version would never recover from this issue and the machine would completely lock up, forcing a reboot to get things on track. Now, it does take a few seconds longer to start speaking a web page, but it's a whole hell of a lot more reliable, so lots of improovements there! it's also nice to be able to just copy plane text to the clipboard. i would really like to have the traditional copy and paste method back, but like i said before that probably isn't possible with the way Window-eyes rhendors a web page now. If it is possible to allow us to use the traditional method of copying and pasting with the arrow keys instead of the f8 selection method, let me encourage the AI Squared guys to offer that as an option in the WE control panel,
m
aybe something in the browse mode section somewhere?
As far as Thunderbird goes,I'm having pretty good results, but occasionally,
i'm not able to read an email as I type it. I like to read back what I wrote to
hear what it sounds like, just to confirm what I've said to avoid any spelling
errors and such. In 9.0 and 9.1 when composing a new message or replying to
one, Window-eyes will say about blank when using the arrow keys after I've
written something, so I know text is there, but for whatever interesting
reason, Window-eyes isn't able to read it. The interesting part is there are
times i can read it back and other times I can't and there doesn't seem to be
any real rhyme or reason to it, which is really frustrating as I'd like to give
you guys some information so you can find a fix. Sometimes if I close
thunderbird and re-open it the problem will fix itself, but i never know how
many times I have to close and re-open it. I am using the TB Enhance app, so
I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Firefox does seem to be a bit faster when loading web pages, but still seems
like it's a tad slower than internet explorer is. I tried google Chrome
yesterday, and was impressed with how accessible it is now! I haven't quite
found enough things I like it to make it my default web browser, but it sure is
nice to know I can have 3 web browsers to choose from now. So, overall i'm
pretty happy with 9.1.
Thanks guys!
