Hello: I know that in older versions of Power Point (2003 and earlier) you could simply rename a .pps file to .ppt and then it would open just like a normal Power point file. Perhaps you can renam a .ppsx to .pptx with the same results.
I do not have any .ppsx files to try. Let me know if this works.
