Hi Chris,

Press Insert-2 (not the Numpad 2, but the other one above the letter keys).
Press this key combination repeatedly until you hear:
"Keyboard voice on with words and numbers."

hth,

Rod

Subject: Please stop speaking numbers by character echo! Annoying!

OK, this is starting to drive me crazy! Hopefully, one of you all can
direct me on how to fix this.

I have Window-Eyes set where as I type, it echos by words. I do not like it
echoing by character. To me, that is just way wayyy! Too verbose. Anyway,
I'm finding that even though I have it set like this, any time that I type a
numerical number, each digit I type is getting echoed character by
character, as if I had my keyboard speech echo set that way instead. I
definitely do want W E to read numbers in general. I just don't want it
speaking them every single time I type them.

I know I probably could go in and simply shut off, under
keyboard/punctuation the mathematical symbols, but I really don't want to do
that, as that's too extreme the other way. I want it to say things like the
plus sign, the dash symbol, the star/asterisk symbol, the dollar sign, and
things like that, or the slash symbol, etc. The only thing I don't want it
reading when I type is 1 through 0 when pressed.

I hope that makes sense.

Chris.
