Hello Mr. Roberts:
I'm one individual who still schlepps Windows XP Pro around the block. Why
so? It still works! I have virtually everything set up and it'll take me
sometime to do the same in Windows7/8/8.1 especially at work.
I am happily using Window-Eyes 9.0.0 in a Windows XP Professional 32Bit box
with no problems whatsoever. I have NOT CHANGED any setting or tinkered
with anything. I just installed, and that was it.
Yes, I know there's Window-Eyes 9.1.0 out there; I've had NO LUCK in
upgrading my XP box to this one. I downloaded and installed Browse Mode
Enhanced, but, when I launch Window-Eyes, I get the message that Browse Mode
Enhanced is NOT supported using the version of Window-Eyes I have in my XP
box. I simply press <enter> on OK and I can go on and get work done with no
hassles.
Now do I have Window-Eyes 9.1.0 installed on any computer? I do! On my
laptop running Windows7 Professional. I don't get the message about Browse
Mode Enhanced I alluded to inter alia.
I also have a laptop in my office running Windows8.1 Professional; I just
installed Window-Eyes 9.0.0 in this box! It took me more than 30 minutes to
complete the installation process and I don't know why that was the case.
In fact, I had to get a pair of eyes to help me! In Windows XP, the
installation process took less than 10 minutes total, and I did not need any
pair of eyes!
I'll say go ahead and install Window-Eyes 9.0.0 in your Windows XP box; if
it doesn't work for you, you can always revert to version 8.4.0. It's
working for me, I don't see why it won't work for you. Yes, GW Micro/AI
Squared may not make any guarantees regarding XP, me thinks that's OK,
they're just following the trend.
Sincerely,
Olusegun
