Veronica, I realize I am one who hardly ever has occasion to use Word,
but I just want to suggest that you try the ctrl-alt-w key to reopen WE
instead of restarting. I know that this is a real PITA, but it beats
having to reboot in order to make WE run again. This method seems to
work more often now than it used too in previous versions when losing
speech, which happens to me more often than I might wish. Hopefully AI
Squared will get to the bottom of this issue once and for all some day,
but until then... __

something similar. I am using Windows 7 and WE 9.1.
I will be right in the middle of a word document and all of a sudden the voice
just goes away. I wait an wai an still it doesn't return.
So I have to alt F4, save and then reopen. It really bugs me.
