I don't use Defender. But when I opened the start menu and typed in
Windows Defender I got a little blurb about it and an option to turn it
on. So if it's running you may get the option to turn it off.

Hi,
How do I turn off Windows Defender? I am using Esset Smart Security and don’t
need it turned on.
I am using Windows 7 Professional.
Thank you,
Pastor Gil
