OK, it's official. I use an Asterisk PBX in a Flash Purple server with the Freepbx web admin interface within my company.
I have used NCH Express Talk in the past on the free non-business Edition and it worked flawlessly. Now however, I'm getting network routing issues left and right when trying to use the app. Seeing that this list is about Window-Eyes, not networking, let me just stay on topic by not boring you all with the specifics there, as doing so would mean me writing an entire novel nearly! To make a long story short, I'm a certified network admin, and I definitely! know for the most part how to configure most home based, and business based routers. This particular router I have here at home where I'm running Express Talk is the Linksys WRT1900AC with the Smart Wifi web interface tool. Admittedly, it's probably not the easiest router I've ever configured from Linksys, but, it does work very well once set up correctly. Anyway, back to my main point, I read through all the documentation at least 5 or 6 times to Express Talk paying very close attention to the sections about networking, NAT, etc. It's also important that I add that I don't have these network issues with any of the sip phones I've used both on my IPhone/IPad, nor on my Android devices. Therefore, I know the issue is not on the server end. There's nothing I need to SSH into as root and change server side. Trust me to it, I looked. Basically, keeping it very incredibly general, it's telling me certain ports need to be opened and unblocked even though they already have been. When I wrote the Express Talk community forums, it's been literally now almost two weeks and I still! haven't gotten a single response up there. I even wrote their tech support directly, and got absolutely no response. I even wrote their sales department and told them I wanted a full refund, and they are not answerring. So, yeah, needless to say, I'll be disputing this with my bank. Meanwhile though, I really need to get up and running on my PC with a sip phone so I can make and receive business calls. So, what else, aside from Express Talk is out there which I could use that is accessible with Window-Eyes? I know that XLite definitely isn't, and neither is Bria, which is the paid verwsion. I hear there was Linphone, but last I tried on the Windows side, it kind a sucked. On Linux it worked OK from the terminal shell, but that's aside the point. I need it to be able to connect on things other than just IPV6. I'm not sure if PBX in a Flash supports that out of the box. I don't think it does. I also need to accessibly with the phone be able to do call transfer, I need to be able to hold and resume calls as needed, and preferably mute and unmute my microphone. Conferencing accessibly would be very helpful, although by absolutely no means is it required. Call waiting ability as far as accessibility goes would be nice too, although again, by no mean s is it required. XLite would work, if it wasn't that holding/transferring doesn't appear to be accessible. Otherwise, I'd do it gladly. Any ideas? Oh! S-J Phone, was another I heard kind of worked, although I never could seem to really figure it out the few times I tried it.
