Hi, Sounds like Window-eyes is reloading when you hit your alt-number command. What happens if you change the hot key from control-alt-w to something else, perhaps control-alt-e.

I did find that if you go in to the search box in the start menu and type in window eyes when you are on that result, use the context key on the keyboard it is the one key on the right side of the keyboard if you are going from the space bar from left to right it is the third key, or the second key from the control key still referring the right side of the space bar, anyway you hit the context key a menu will pop up and you want to arrow down to where it says to pin to task bar. Then that way you can use the windows key along with the number row to hit for example: windows key the number one. I have done that and that has worked. I even made a short cut for NVDA in that kind of way. I only have two things pinned to the task bar and it is a easy way to go. Hope I could help you out.
