Hello Casey,

I love the Vocalizer voices, and use them all the time.

For years I used the Dectalk32 voice, and when you use a voice that long, you get used to its quirks and accents.

But, I first came across the Vocalizer voices in another program made to read Documents. It was so good! It was a British voice named Gordon. Very Classy and clear sounding. but at that time, Nuance was not sharing them, unless you paid 100 or more dollars for the entire collection of voices they made. Too expensive for my budget, but GW Micro came along with a smaller, English only package, and I bought it.

It didn't have the Gordon voice, Boo Hoo, but they had another British voice named Daniel, that was almost as good.

I use the Highest quality voices they provide. There are two choices for each voice, Daniel would have a High quality version, and then a slightly less quality, made for slower computers with less speed and memory.

However, I use these highest quality voices on an old Gateway system, running Win XP, with 2 GB of memory and a ship speed of 3.2 ghz. Single core.

And the system has no problems doing everything for which I use the computer.

I sometimes use the American voices named Samantha, or Tom. Tom reminds me a bit of the old Dectalk32 voice, but Tom is much clearer.

When first installing these voices, when you start up your system, and change to the new voices, I had to slow down the speaking speed, as the voice was barely understandable.

Some people have their voices going so fast, only they can understand them. I run one of my systems fairly quick, and the other I run it slower because at a slower rate, these Vocalizer Premium voices are very clear.

I could go back to using the Dectalk32 voice, but I am afraid that Daniel and Samantha have spoiled me badly.

To my ear, I have craved the clearest and the most human like voice to speak the contents of my screens. I started out with the old DOS programs with those old Robot sounding voices such as the Echo GP, and the Sound card made by GW Micro. Over the years, voices have gotten better, and these voices from Vocalizer are the best yet that I have heard for the typical Windows computer user. There is room for improvement, and I look forward to those days too. But these voices sound much better than the older voices we used just a few years ago.

Hope this helps,

Dave

Or what synthesizers are people using other the that they like and neo speech?
I have the regular vocalize voices so that is why I am asking?
