Ditto here: I find using f8 annoying and would like the old method of selecting
and copying back as well.
It gave me a quick, standardized, method of grannuarly selecting text anyplace,
anytime.
F8 is indeed clunky and I don’t think complies with Microsoft default standard
key operations - not sure havent researched it at all but what I feel having
worked with f8 for some time now

I found this also, a few months back.
for some reason best known to themselves, the new developers of window-eyes
have broken what was a perfectly good, easy, and universal method of doing
this, and replaced it with there own method, which is both unusual, and
clumsy. they haven't as yet, given any good reason for this, but I am
assuming that there is one.
instead, one now has to use the f8 key, once you have got the cursor to the
start of what you want to select. then, once you have got the cursor to the
end of what you want to select, you press f8 again, and will be given some
options for copying etc.
from my experience, the end is never where one wants it, which is why I
describe this new method as clumsy. it is always either before, or after
what you actually want to select, never exactly just on it.
hope this helps, as I also found this extremely annoying!

Simon

Good evening all,

It seems that whenever I try to select text using the shift end key, in
window eyes, I hear a windows tone sound, and nothing gets selected. For
example, if I try to select the email address of this list, I’ll put my
cursor on the first letter, then do a shift end key too select the text of
the email address, then do a control C to copy it too the clipboard. But
then when I do a control V to paste it into the to field, in an email
message, it won’t get pasted. If anyone here has any suggestions or advice
as to what I might be doing wrong, Could you please provide me with step
by step instructions on how I might fix this problem?

Thanks in advance,
Al Cutolo
