Hi! Manufacturers have a tendency not to install updates! That is why we ask you to install them! Install it!! And report back if you are successful.

I just went to check on updates to Windows 8.1, and saw that the important update was a Rollup file. I wouldn't be concerned about installing this apparent equivalent to the service pack of old but for the fact that I thought it should have been installed on my new Dell before it was shipped out a couple of weeks ago, especially since it was released way back in November of 2014. After my experience with a lemon from Dell back in March, I really don't want to have to experience any more madness of that intensity for a while, especially as they relate to computing. So, any input on this matter would be appreciated. BTW, not that this is a real justification for posting these kinds of queries on the WE List, But I think I'm going to have to break down and get a Gmail account, just to see if that wont change my luck with trying to subscribe to lists on Yahoo, because Comcast seems to have a problem, and apparently these lists seem to be blocked. So, as much as I hate too, it looks like I'm gonna have to take out multiple accounts just to be able to conduct business round here <smile>.
