Hi listers,

I can't believe how hard setting up filters is proving to be in Thunderbird. Now being a relatively new user of Windows 8.1, I could definitely be missing something.

I have managed to set all the filtering rules, or preferences like moving message to , and looking in the body of the message for a string, and those particulars of filtering rules. I cannot though, get the program to except the folder I wish to send messages too. I choose the appropriate account folder, as well as subfolder to send it too by highlighting it, and pressing enter on it, and it tells me that the folder is on. But when I go to the OK box, it keeps telling me that I need to select a target folder. Now, wasn't that what I just did?

I suppose these so called pop down menus, or what could be termed as a slightly more sophisticated if not just more complicated version of the combo boxes of old may still be presenting a challenge for me. I still want to think of a pull down menu as one you just right arrow to and the menu will, well, pull down, but I realize that in the age of the ribbon that other steps must be taken. I do press enter on the folder I created for this filter, but no go. Any ideas? I've sure got lots of email from so many lists going to my inbox, so sure would like to have a bit more organization.

I'm sure Eudora's learning curve was a bit steep, but can't remember that program giving me this much trouble.

OK, enough complaining for now. Any help would as usual be appreciated.

Thanks,

Larry
