its the window eyes desktop icon. this is where the shortcut key defaults are for control alt w command. you could change this short cut key if you want by opening the context menu on the icon, go to properties and change this shortcut . i changed mine to control alt insert. then i don't have to reach accross the keyboard to get to the factory default shortcut keys.

The Readme for version 9 says the following:
* If Window-Eyes was running and you attempted to launch it again either with Control-Alt-W or the Desktop shortcut, a dialog would appear saying that Window-Eyes was already running. Now, the existing copy of Window-Eyes is closed and a new one is launched
in its place.
So, what is this desktop shortcut command that is referred to. I thought the control-alt-W was the only command to launch Window-Eyes. Thanks. Regards: Ted Larson
