Hi: Join the WindowEyes Scripting list. Figuring out x,y coordinates is pretty easy. The x coordinate goes from left to right and the y coordinate goes from top to bottom. They are usually given in terms of pixels and a pixel is just one dot on a computer screen. Letters and numbers are made up of groups of these pixels and the number of pixels in each block is determined by a font and by your screen resolution. You don't have to worry too much about pixels if you are going to script a third party application since you usually find the items you want to have spoken in other ways. Join the scripting list and you should be able to get folks who know how to get started scripting help out with the basics. Rick USA

My problem? I am unable to determine what to look for when evaluating a program for script writing. All I know is that a particular program IS NOT accessible no matter how many times I may press TAB, the down or up arrow, and using familiar key combos like Alt-T, alt-F, ETC. Also, perhaps my math went East, I have a hard time understanding Windows X/Y coordinates! Perhaps if I can find a book or article that explains this concept, I may take a hard shot at writing a script or two.
