Hi Sue, It will work with the Trekker Breeze only if it will act as a standard GPS supplying GPS data over a cable or a bluetooth connection. This is called NMEA data when a GPS supplies GPS info to some other device.
If you buy a GPS meant for a notebook/laptop, they only cost around $50 or so; you can get them to use USB or bluetooth connections (this is all documented in my app's documentation). What you buy for your laptop is called a "GPS mouse", and it has no screen; it's a thing about the size of a matchbox, and has better accuracy than say the GPS built into a cell phone. Even when you have a GPS, you still need an internet connection (right now anyway) to really have it be useful to my app; so you'll need either a wifi connection, or a mobile hotspot for your cell phone, so you can get all the mapping data from Google. I started out working on the GPS capabilities, and all the beta test users asked me to work on desktop capabilities first, saying not too many people would actually take a laptop around with them. If that's wrong, and I hear a lot from people with laptops and GPS and internet connections, then I'll go back to working on those capabilities (such as having it be able to guide you to a destination with turn-by-turn instructions, and telling you what's around you as you get near to places). They do make ultra light notebooks now which are small enough that someone could carry it in a bag or backpack, or use it while on transit. So, it's still an idea, but I am definitely still asking people what they would use it for, and like it to do. I am not working on making it a paid product by the way, I plan for it to always be a free app, no matter how large (right now I think it's the largest app available for Window-Eyes, at around 25 thousand lines of VBScript). I really do need to find time to make some tutorials though; people don't seem to get the ideas as to what it can do. If anyone is using it and feels like they understand it, please do share on these mailing lists with others as to how you use it and how to do various things; that would help me out a lot. Will this work with the trekker breeze? I did copy the text stuff that you have on dropbox, thanks for the link. Will read it later.
