Thanks for the quick response, this is happening in the middle of sentences, 
normally you might get half an empty line in Braille at the end of a paragraph 
but not at the beginning.

If I'm reading your message correctly, even in traditional paper braille 
you'll find empty lines and one-word lines.  It's a waste of paper and 
patience, but I have a feeling this might be mirrored or duplicated when 
you're using a display.  Just a suggestion.
