Hi Dennis, Yes, I know why since I've read up on this and it's been going on for a while with previous versions of Outlook. There seems to be no consistent way of ensuring sound notifications by using only the setting you're referring to. The only sure-fire way of getting sound on incoming emails is to set up a rule and have a sound played for the action to be performed.
