Jim,
I just did a quick check of CreditKarma.com. The sign up process includes three
steps and each step has its own form that you need to complete. I found that
required fields are not designed in a way so that they can be easily discovered
if using a screen reader. And, if you don't fill out the form exactly as the
author intended, you will get bounced back to the same web page. If you do
submit the form with errors, the page will reload. Once the page reloads, there
should be text towards the top of the page indicating there were errors and
then additional text by the specific fields that had errors explaining how to
fix the errors. Also, on the first form for creating the account, there are
some check boxes at the bottom of the form regarding opting in for email
communication. I found that if you don't check the first of these options, a
message will pop up saying you can only get the free credit report if you do
opt in for email communication. So, it sounds like they are forc
ing you to select this option even though it isn't a required field. In
summary, these forms have some usability issues and there are quite a few
places where it would be easy to get stuck. You will probably need to be very
comfortable going in and out of Browse Mode when working with forms to complete
this process successfully. Good luck.
Regards,
Marc

Hi THERE! Was wondering if anyone here has had any experience using
CreditCarma.com? Just tried getting registered and after completing the form, I
was placed back at the beginning of the form as though I had missed a step..?
So I reviewed it before submitting the next time, and got the same results. Has
anyone here used this website with anymore success than I have had? If so,
could you please explain what you did?
THANKS VERY MUCH! de P.S. Someone can respond off list at the below address.
