Rick,
Open the Tools menu in Firefox with Alt-T, then move down to Add-ons and press
Enter. By default, the Plugins tab panel should be displayed. The trick to
using this interface, which is HTML based to some extent, is to turn Browse
Mode off. Tab to the list of plugins. I don't think there is a label for the
list so you will need to listen for Window-Eyes to announce the name of the
first plugin in the list. Once in the list, you should be able to use Up and
Down to move through the items. Once you find the plugin of interest (i.e.
Shockwave Flash), you should hear its name and version. The current version is
18.0.0.160. You can then Tab to find the More link and controls that can be
used to customize the plugins options and behavior. For example, I have Firefox
configured to Ask to Activate the Flash plugin. The other options in the combo
box are Always activate and Never activate. If you don't want the plugin to run
on pages that have Flash, you can set this option to Never ac
tivate. Once you make changes, just close the page. I have Flash installed for
IE, Firefox and Chrome. I usually don't run more than one browser at a time but
in theory it should be possible to have more than one browser open and
rendering Flash content. If needed, there is a way to find out what version of
Flash is installed in each browser that you use. You can open the specific
browser and visit: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/. Assuming you
don't have Flash disabled, a small Flash object will load on the page and
display the version of Flash being used. I hope this helps.
Regards,
Marc

Subject: Firefox Navigation

Hi: I am running Firefox latest edition I think.
After updating I get the message that The Adobe Flash PlugIn has crashed on
most every webpage.
I looked up this message and found instructions on trying diferent things to
fix it.
Most talk about going into the PlugIns MenuItem in Firefox and selecting a
panel or tab but I don't see anything where I get a list of my current
plugins but what looks like a list of choices I might want to download and
install - no adobe flash plugin in the list.
How do I navigate to the correct panel or tab or whatever where I can check
the current plugins and activate the Adobe Flash PlugIn if it is not active?
Also, I read there are 3 versions of flash, one for Firefox, one for
Internet Explorer and one for Chrome.
I am not sure which version I had installed, I may have clicked update flash
from Internet Explorer a few days ago.
Can I run both the one for firefox and the Internet Explorer version at the
same time?
How do I determine which version I have installed.
This is why I avoid third party stuff but because of all the crashes with
WindowEyes and Internet Explorer I was forced to look at flash.
Hope someone has something on this since articles I read don't seem to match
up with hwhat I hear trying to setup flash using WindowEyes.
