Hi Nick,
Remember when we are using browse mode each time the focus moves we are 
building the browse mode line on the fly.  There is no longer a static buffer.  
I have taken your example and duplicated it.  You could turn off browse mode 
and tab, you could also press insert-tab and use the page navigation dialog to 
bring up a list of links.  You could arrow down the list of links.

So there are a number of sites I frequent which are message boards, and as the 
threads increase in posts, and I tab through the links within a thread, WE 
becomes sluggish.  On the other hand, if I turn browse mode off, WE reads each 
link virtually as I tab on to it. I'm just curious why.  This has been the case
