I went back (since I started out with Jaws), and made the case that the tech
support was so poor with jaws that I could not use it at all; it wasn't
working on my setup at the time, and the agency who purchased it couldn't
help (although that was their justification for forcing me into jaws, that
they could "support" it). Well, they could not, and it would not work, and
so I switched.

(btw, 3 months later I got someone at FS who knew how to make it work; the
problem is that jaws is also copy protected, and their system was failing on
my laptop, and I had to authorize my copy 8 times in a row, with 8 different
authorizations, to get it to work; if I updated, the same again, and they
only allow 3 authorizations without cutting you off, so you can imagine it
was very frustrating).

My point being, you can make a case when it's completely failing to work,
that you must have something else; you just document, write letters, and
call, until it happens.

Hi. I purchased my first s m a about a month ago. I'm speculating here,
but I feel that purchasing a software maintenance agreement was a wise
investment because if I hadn't purchased the agreement, I would have paid
the $49 plus whatever the next paid upgrade would cost, and for all I know I
might have spent about the same amount if not more. Also, Ai Squared's free
unlimited technical support is some of the best in the technology field if
you have a fully licensed copy of Window-eyes. I don't feel like paying for
support on a per incident basis. The costs could add up, smile. I'm
sticking with what I have.
