Ouch! I'm glad you told us this, as I don't have 9.2 yet. Honestly, I don't have a single thing whatsoever wrong with Window-Eyes, in fact, I really actually like it quite a lot. That said though, it's not my primary screen reader. That's why I haven't really made an effort to upgrade it to 9.2. I did have Office 3 65, but unfortunately due to personal reasons, I had to cancel, as it was becoming a pudgit problem. I guess I'll just have to resub though and eat the cost. It'll be annoying, but if I can't install W10 otherwise, then, ok.

Yeah, I suppose I could totally for now uninstall W E and not have it on my system, point blank, but I'm not sure how well jaws or NVDA would work with W10, and frankly, this isn't the list to find that out, iether.

Chris.

Hi,
You need 9.2 installed before upgrading to Windows 10. If any version of Window-eyes prior to 9.2 is installed, Windows 10 will not install.

Only one problem: what if you don't have the Window-Eyes 9.2
installation CD? You can't install 9.1 first, then upgrade, can
you?--Matthew Chao

I seem to remember that Doug advised not to install WE-9.2 until first
installing Win-10. Then go ahead, and install 9.2.

OK so I installed Windows 10 over a Windows 8.1 system. The install
went well and all programs worked after the install. Thunderbird works
fine Crome works fine and WE came up talking.
Biggest issues is being very sluggish when it comes to file manager or
when trying to use the up and down arrows to work through a list. This
sluggishness is to the point of making file manager useless as it make
take several seconds after you press the down or up arrows before WE talks.
Unless I am missing something I understood that the Windows 7 style of
start menu was part of Windows 10. Unless there some way to change it
it isn't even close to being a Windows 7 start menu. Unless there is a
fix for the sluggishness I would recommend thinking twice before
upgrading to Windows 10.
If I am again missing something and there is a easy fix please pass it
along and I will gladly retract my negative report.
