Hi all
Over the weekend, I created a virtual machine with an evaluation of
Vmware Workstation 11 with Windows 10 as both host and guest. I thought
to try the "Reset This PC" feature in the guest. Well this is where the
subject comes in! With absolutely no installation media in either host
or guest, I was able to do the reset and it was successful! It even took
under half an hour to complete! Googling Windows 10 recovery suggests
that the feature no longer requires any sort of recovery image and
instead loads the required system files to complete the reset at
runtime. You can, however, still create a recovery drive in Windows 10
by going to Control Panel > recovery.
But yes, Windows 10 just keeps getting better! I love it! Hope you do
too when you come to upgrading! I don't think you will regret it!
