Just as a note: Narrator isn't needed until the computer reboots.  Once the 
computer reboots, window-eyes will be gone.
Just wait a while and press windows-enter.

In Windows 7, to get Narrator up, hit windows+U, then, after a few seconds, 
hit alt+N to initialize Narrator.

Note, to the best of my knowledge, this method still works in 8.1.  It's 
just that in 8.1, windows+enter was introduced as even a quicker way.
