Good afternoon Bud,

Windows 10 has native support for zip and other compressed file formats. 7-Zip,
Winzip, and WinRAR offer a lot more functionality. You might take a look at:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/zip-unzip-files
<http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/zip-unzip-files>. Also see:
http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8146-zip-file-folder-how-windows-10-a.html
<http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8146-zip-file-folder-how-windows-10-a.html>.

Using “Open with" to pass a downloaded file to a program to unzip it like 7-Zip.
One way to do it is to select "Open with" instead of Download in the dialog box
that is shown when you click on a link to zip file. After the download the zip
will be opened in the program you use to handle zip files and you can extract
into desired folder. If you always want to do this and skip the usual Download
dialog, you can check the "Do this automatically for files like this from now
on" check box.

Automatically unzip files after they download.

Unrelated to the original question, but important to know. If you uncompress
(unzip) a compressed file any encrypted files in side of it are automatically
decrypted. Which will expose any sensitive information you may have placed in
that encrypted file.

P.S. Text the word BLIND to 85944 to donate $10 to the NFB Imagination Fund via
your phone bill.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between
blind people and our dreams. You can have the life you want; blindness is not
what holds you back.
